![]() religion - a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs as you can see that's the real meaning of religion. and why is there a need for religions and since it's the truth about the universe which can only contain 1, why are there so many different forms of religions. for many years, religion has been the cause for numerous wars and bloodsheds, but why are there so much chaos over something that is supposing-ly good. well if there's only 1 truth to it, i would rather believe in science. the countless proofs and theories have always been there. long ago in greece, people tend to ask about the natural phenomenas like rain, etc but without any knowledge, they can only push it to something extraordinary. well there must be a group of gods in charge of different things, zeus must be the head of it and he's the cause of the lightning and so on. of course there are people living in not just greece, but in japan, china and so on. being human, they choose to believe in the extraordinary as well. thus, the birth of Shintoism and Taoism. until a group of thinkers came about, they began to explore and try to find out the truth behind it using logic and reasons, they are the fathers of science, still they choose to be different and well got banished, exiled or even killed. since there's only 1 truth, why not believe in that truth. if you don't, why are you still studying it or applying it to our daily life. well maybe god likes to play games. he locked everything in the forms of numbers and figures just to hide it from us. occasionally, he would reveal some of it to us, guiding us or warning us about the the mysterious yet great powers he has. but is there a purpose in doing so, if god really want all of us to enjoy eternal life in paradise, why play such games and cause conflicts among us. you can also say he's giving us 'freewill' in showing us something, giving us a choice but well it ain't really a choice isn't it? if we happened to doubt him after knowing more, we'll still rot in hell.....haha maybe there's this overpopulation issue going on in paradise. but why do people need religion. we have now found out that the rain is not something god gives us for us to farm, it rains because there's this water cycle going on. oh well most mysteries have been explained, why still religion. well that comes to the 2nd part of the definition. it contains a set of moral codes governing the conduct of human affairs. if one day,you realize hey there's no hell or heaven, we are all gonna die and rot back into the soil, would you still find it important to do the RIGHT things? would you care about how others feel, or would you be more concerned over your well being? we'll do crap! religions are here to restrict us, to prevent us from doing stupid things, in fact some used it to control their people. i think people choose to adopt religion to explain things but well hey it's getting the effect of having morally-upright people, why not? religion IS the fundamental now. however contradictorily, religion is the cause for many conflicts. honestly, i don't believe in god. but sometimes i do hope i was wrong, he'll show up and convince me of his existence, guiding me thru life. i want to believe that god is all good and nice, he don't want anyone to suffer, he won't let someone to keep falling in life, he would pick them up and make them stronger. he would have everything planned out for each one of us. he would make sure the good gets the reward and the bad gets the punishment. i want to believe in something like that. but show me! i am open up to you, but i need the facts and answers. most religion believe in the end of world. the great apocalypse that would eventually consume us all, and the non-believers would perish while the believers would attain eternal peace. but why apocalypse? to re-build the world? the world would continue to degenerate into chaos as humans are imperfect, by destroying it now and re-building it later, and then degenerate it again, that can only give birth to short phases of peace which afterwards, we would all turn astray and do bad and the cycle repeats. i mean there must be a better solution, hello you are god, you created us all. well it all comes back to this question again? is there really god out there? is he the cause of everything but then what's his cause? nothing can come from nothing, something must have come from something. like Einstein said, god doesn't play dice. there might be reasons afterall, but hey god sure likes playing guess. in the midst of finding answers to unify them all, we are still humans that have our own freewill, to choose to believe in whatever we want to believe in. that's the truth for each unique individual. maybe he will find me someday, and when the time comes, i'll know what to do. maybe i'll find him and get a reward from him? but well in the meantime, i can only follow what i think it's right, to pursue mindlessly for the truth. i may be on the wrong highway already but hey! even though i am on CTE, he'll eventually guide me out to exit into PIE right? i'll leave him to his plans for now. we can still be morally upright even if god doesn't exist, we can all live happily together with no hurt and pain, maybe when the time comes for us to be able to do all that, he will change his mind about apocalypse, we got to convince him. it's like convincing your parents you are mature and sensible now so that they won't have to control you so much isn't it? i am still an atheist looking for the truth. whack / 10:01 AM |
