end of MP!

finally! 1 more week to the end of MP,but i am not feeling too happy about it. somehow i don't want it to end.....lol am i crazy? haha i will still have to come back for 1 or 2 weeks for the final touch up of my project anyway lol but it's alil bit different, different groups will have to come back if their project's not done, and they can come in at different times, we can't have breakfast at the same time, we can't really leave at the same time? hahahah

MP has been a great experience for me though, i get to know so many people, i get to enjoy myself, working and doing stupid things with so many people especially my buddy hua sheng. haha we can fight, scold, play pranks on each other almost everyday, i think we are the nosiest group in BICU1, yet we can work well together. if there's another chance for me to work with hua sheng, i will certainly join his group again. hahaha BY THE WAY I AM NOT GAY!

one thing i learn in MP is HOW TO BE AN ENGINEER, being an engineer is not easy at all. no wonder the diploma is worth the 2nd most compared to IT, biz, design. an engineer is so stressed, and MOST engineers smokes, haha i am not trying to find an excuse for myself though, but it's true that engineers undergo lots of stress. they are responsible if their project cannot work after spending so much money on it. unlike software programming, there are several factors in why your circuit can't work sometimes. it may not just be wrong connection. maybe overheating, response from different i/cs or just weak connection causing noise and so on. and then engineers got to spend so much time just to troubleshoot it. they got to take note of the components they used too, to get the desirable effects. trust me, it's hard to be an engineer, salute to all engineers out there! hahaha

although i will still complain about things like, why do we still need to pay school fees during in house internship or maybe why can't we get a discount for it or why is there such a rigid system for our MP, but i still enjoy the experience in it. this is my last year doing engineering afterall, it's great to experience working like an engineer hahaha tony stark is just amazing!=)

-the best thing about MP is knowing you.

do you know it all?

i have a friend, well actually not a friend, we just happened to share the same fate of having to study in the same class,LOL(k friend lar, let's not be so mean). the thing about this friend of mine.........he likes to boast, he likes to correct people, he likes to show others that he's right. i guess to him, there's nothing more satisfying than to show people he knows everything. he seems to really knows everything, everytime we talk about some random cock, he just seems to be able to give us a short lecture of it. from circuits to cooking, bubble tea to milo, qin shi huang to spartan(actually there's alot more, i just can't remember it since i don't really pay attention to his so called lectures) , i think there's nothing he would claim not knowing it.

even when we are attending our random lessons, as we pose some random questions to each other, like a fairytale godmother, he would just pop out and then give us the answer be it right or wrong. to us, he's like the so called HUMAN WIKIPEDIA(that's a nice nick for him i guess)

another friend of mine once asked us, is it so hard? is it really so hard for him to say i don't know?LOL! i wouldn't know about it. i think we should ask him next time. i mean IF you really don't know something, it's REALLY(trust me) REALLY REALLY okay with us, you DON'T have to say you know it when you don't, we won't hate you for not knowing something, we are all learners trying to learn and gain some knowledge from each other afterall. =)

the great Socrates was seen as the wisest man on earth. anyway Socrates was the founding father of philosophy, he introduced many different thinking systems and views that we still use today. he started the whole logic thinking, eg. all bugs have six legs, fly has six legs, there fore a fly is a bug. anyway i don't know much about his stuffs, afterall his stuffs were not recorded down directly from him, it was recorded by his student, Plato who compiled his ideas into a book. anyway during that time, many people yearn to be the wisest of all, they seek the answer from the orcale of delphi, the oracle told them Socrates was the wisest, upon hearing that, they went on to confront Socrates. but Socrates told them that the oracle must be wrong since he claimed that he knows nothing, he doesn't possess any real wisdom. what the oracle meant was that, he who knows it all knows nothing and he who knows nothing knows it all. people who claimed that they know lots of things are people who don't know anything at all. while people who knows nothing, are wiser in a sense that at least they KNOW that they don't possess real wisdom. thus they are wiser.=)

i am not trying to bring my friend down or what. i just find all this very interesting. so in the first place, why must people try to act that they know so much things in the first place. i mean is it for money?NO? is it for power?NO? is it just to show people that you are very smart?maybe yes? and if you did show to people that you are very smart? SO? what can you get? and will people think you are very smart? do you think people really think that you are very smart now? LOL! anyway i guess it gives you some confidence and personal comfort when people really thinks that you are smart, that's why we can't stop ourselves from trying to show others our capabilities, afterall we are only human.(like how i like to show off my soldering skills LOL) but maybe we should restrict ourselves. haha.

anyway, for me i think that knowledge is very important, out of wealth, power and knowledge i will always choose knowledge. for me i would want to experience and learn as many things as possible, i want to get closer into seeking the ultimate and most fundamental question of everything. the truth and reasons for our very own existence. this is the question that started philosophy, sciences, mathematics and many more. each areas has its own ways of reaching out to the common truth in the end. knowledge is everything. so do you have it?do you know it all?hahahaha i hope this post is an interesting one=)

-i will let you infuriate me until you are satisfied=)

thank you,kaka!

she has been here since she was just 17years old. just imagine a young girl who came here to another totally different country, trying to earn some money for her family. i believe she used to work in different places before, may it be a maid or a factory worker, working at such a young age not for herself is indeed hard on her. but she must work on in order to live a better life next time.

finally she met us. i was only 5 years old then. but i could still remember how she first came in
with her agent. she smiled at me, i could only smile back not knowing how she will change my life in the next 14years. as the agent was talking to my parents, she fed me my dinner and she talked to me,played with me. i was so happy about this new sister...someone to send and fetch me home from my primary school, someone to take care of me, someone who can play with me.

i remember how mischievous i tend to get when i was young. despite that, she always thought of my well-being first. i remember going somewhere else after school one day,and when she couldn't find me, like a sister, she was so worried and even cried. instead of reprimanding me, she was relieved and just glad to see me. and like any brother would feel, guilt. as a kid, she used to bring me to places which my parents or brother were too busy to bring me, she brought me to pasar malams, bedok interchanges and even tampines mall. even though these places are so simple and near, for a 7-8 yr old kid, it meant alot. and i remember how i used to pester her to take me to those pasar malam rides, and very often she would and then wait patiently till my ride's over.

as the years passed,i grew up to be who i am today. the sucky thing about growing up is that, you tend to feel more insensitive towards close ones around you. you take them for granted sometimes. of course i have already regarded my maid as a part of my family. a sister who i called kaka all the time. i began to think that she will be around all the time. we began to talk lesser and lesser, yet regarding each other to be there forever. in a way, our bonds grew stronger yet we drifted farther.

14 years have passed since she first walk through my door, and now it's time for her to leave. she's 31 years old now, having saved enough money to spend her whole life in comfort, hoping to get married and live a good life with her family. she has given all of her prime years to us, all her 20s to take care of me, nurturing me to the person i am today. i am sure she would have want me to spend my prime years on her behalf too, being a responsible and good man, living my life happily to the fullest. i am sure i will not be able to be the same as i am now if not for my kaka. she will always remain as a member of the family no matter what, she will always be my kaka who guide me through my growing years, she will always be a major role in my life story. i will always remember her. i do hope we are able to keep in contact with each other and maybe see each other next time when we have the opportunity. 14 precious years of her prime......i know it cannot be gratified with just 'thank you', i wish i could have done more. but still thank you so much kaka, for these 14 years. i hope you are able to get married to a good man and live your life in comfort, having a warm family of your own. thank you kaka, we will miss you!
