post-overseas community project(cambodia)

BACK!actually i am back since last week lol,i am just lazy to blog. haha well 10 days in cambodia.........a totally crazy yet fun and meaningful experience for me! bonds became stronger, friends became closer, mindset became more mature.......besides being a humanitarian trip, it's also a journey of re-discovering yourself. 10days~ of living in close proximity with your friends, we get to know each other better, through this, you either strengthen your friendship or weakens it. for me, both! but i am really happy to find so many great friends there and thank you people for these fantastic 10days which i will never forget in my life!

actually there's too much things for me to blog about, and too much pics for me to show. so sorry i couldn't blog everything, but seriously we learned lot of things over there. how to work and live together as a team, how important it is for us to bond closely as a team and of course knowing how fortunate we are to live in s'pore. in some of the kampong places we been to, they have to bath and wash their clothes in the river, it's really very different down there. we also get to experience living in simplicity.....unlike the hectic lifestyle in sg, it's like we can normally relax and enjoy the scenery and see cows eating grass and just read a book and enjoy the HOT and DRY afternoon. haha sometimes simplicity is a blessing, no worries and troubles......just live life as it is......being contended with what you have.

these 10days have been really great i even got myself a parlay of digging shit with my barehands in a toilet bowl HAHAHAHA well i am also motivated to do more charity work and contribute more to the less fortunate...afterall that's what a meaningful life is about, helping each other, working towards a common goal=) thank you my friends!

pre-overseas community project(cambodia)

few more hours and i will be flying off!!!!!!!!to cambodia haha this is like the 1st time i will be traveling off to some far places, without my family members around. i mean it would be a great opportunity for me to be more independent haha especially learning how to wash my own clothes=) the trip to cambodia this time round is to actually help installing a generator through solar panels to light up lamps and fans in a medical post in a rural area. to be experiencing life in a 3rd world country and helping them, creating an impact in other's life is really great. it may not be something big, but if like-minded people can come together and all trying to give their best to help, even if it's just a small project.........it's worth our time and efforts.

it may just be 10days, but i am sure what i learn in these 10days will stick with me through the rest of my life. actually i thought of working in developing countries after i graduate next time, maybe like spend a few years there, doing something meaningful, using what i have or had learned to help others. i heard of projects like setting up microbanks for farmers and villagers over there in order for them to get better tools and lead a better life. i mean there's so much more that's worth doing in this world, compared to wasting your life and partying away or what.
i am not against partying but sometimes, the world isn't just about entertainment or money, we can re-discover another side of us through such humanistic approaches.

well.......it's going to be tough but i will survive the 10days and of course enjoy myself. and of course souvenirs for my friends and family. haha take care people!=) looking forward to see you guys soon including you.=)
